Twistwood is a historic home built in 1846 by Mr. McCrory in Clarke County, Mississippi. It has carried that name since the day it was built, which is its own kind of quiet miracle, a name that outlasted its original owner and stuck.

The house has been in the Deas/Buckley family since the 1860s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is currently being lovingly restored.

The name itself, Twistwood, refers to the way wood grows when it has to work around something: an obstacle, a wound, a hard season. The grain twists. The tree survives. What grows back is often stronger, and always more interesting, than what was there before.

That's the spirit this brand was built to hold. A space for people who have been through something (or are in the middle of something) and are still here, still reaching, still finding their way toward light.

What this place is

A different kind of
wellness space.

Twistwood Center isn't a spa. It isn't a productivity system. It isn't a place for people who already have everything figured out.

It's a place for people who are doing a lot — maybe too much — and have started to notice the cost. People who want real tools, not cheerleading. Practices that work in the middle of a full life, not just during a retreat.

The name comes from the way trees grow through difficulty — gnarled, weathered, still reaching toward light. That's the person this is built for.

This is for you if
  • You wake up tired and go to bed wired — and you're ready for that to change
  • You have a creative project that won't move — or a blank page you keep avoiding
  • You're in a transition and can't quite find your footing
  • You want to feel more present in your own life — not someday, but now
  • You're skeptical of wellness culture but can feel something needs to shift
